ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A local club is asking people to stop and smell the hops.
The Umpqua Valley Brewers guild has 42 members who are united by a common goal: to make a tasty home brewed beer.
This weekend, the club is hoping to share their love with the public through a learn to home brew day.
From 11 to 4 on Saturday, people are welcome to join guild members at 1308 Park Street.
There will be several different craft beers to sample, workshops, and those in attendance will have the chance to ask for tips, tricks and advice from those who've brewed for years.
Organizers say it's a hobby that offers a little something for everyone. Diane Griffin, the UVBG President, says beer lovers are a diverse group. "It does appeal to all sorts of people. I mean, we've got artists, engineers, scientists, chefs, there's something for everybody in this hobby," she said. "You can make it as simple or as complex as you want to."
This weekend's event is free, and open to everyone 21 and over.
