RV fire slows holiday traffic on I-5 near Sutherlin

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- If you were traveling on Interstate 5 near Sutherlin Tuesday afternoon you might have been stuck in traffic.

Crews responded to an RV fire around 2:30 p.m.

Officials say the driver of the RV saw flames and smoke coming from the trailer he was towing and the fire spread to nearby grass.

Sutherlin Fire and the Douglas Forest Protective Association quickly put out the flames, but the RV is a total loss.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
