Roseburg restaurant closes for a week while owner takes employees on Mexican cruise
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Would you take a vacation with your coworkers?
A restaurant in Roseburg is closing its doors for an entire week to do just that.
All 16 employees at Smokin’ Friday BBQ are headed for a five-day, all expenses paid cruise to Mexico, courtesy of the restaurant owners.
After last year’s employee day trip to a water park, management decided to take this year's employee appreciation trip to new heights.
"I'm saying you need to be the best of the best every minute you're working,” explained Smokin’ Friday’s Kathy Standridge, “so because of that, they meet that bar. I am more than happy to give to them because that's the only reason we're successful … is everybody."
Smokin' Friday BBQ on Garden Valley will be closed from March 26 to April 2 and will reopen on April 3.
