Roseburg police searching for bank robbery suspect

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Police in Roseburg are looking for a man they say robbed a bank on Garden Valley Blvd. Monday morning.

Police were called just after 11:00 am to the Umpqua Bank located at 1790 Garden Valley Blvd., for a report that a male suspect robbed the bank.

Officers from Roseburg, along with state troopers and Sheriff's deputies responded to the bank and combed the area looking for the suspect.

Police say the man walked into the bank, said he had a weapon and demanded money.

Authorities say the man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the male suspect was described as being in his 40's or 50's, about 5'7" tall, 160-180 pounds, and wearing a black coat, royal blue shirt, blue baseball hat and jeans. The suspect was also said to have bright blue eyes and tan skin.

The lobby of the Umpqua Bank was closed while police investigated.

Officials are asking anyone who thinks they may have seen the suspect or has other information about the robbery to call the Roseburg Police Department.
