ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Roseburg Oregon State Police office may be moving.
County officials say that they're in the early stages of an agreement with OSP to lease the old parks building near the 129 interchange.
Gary Groth, the county parks and land director, says that OSP officials and the county commissioners have agreed memorandum of understanding, which basically means that both parties are interested in the project moving forward. "We're still in negotiations," said Groth. "We gave the state police some preliminary plans and they gave some input and told us more specifically what they needed."
Groth says that there isn't really a projected timeline for completion, but if everything goes according to plan he believes that crews could start construction sometime next summer.
