Roseburg couple arrested on meth charges

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg couple is behind bars, after officials from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team say they served a search warrant on an apartment where the two lived.

Authorities say they had been investigating Fredrico Cardenas, 44, and Darla Faye Brabender, 47, both of Roseburg, for a few months.

DINT commander Curt Stricklin says that undercover detectives made at least two controlled buys from the pair, leading to the team getting a search warrant.

On Monday afternoon, detectives served the search warrant at the couple's apartment in the 800 block of Huntley Ave. in north Roseburg.

Officials say they didn't find a lot of meth at the residence, but did find what Stricklin says was, "a large amount of evidence of drug use and paraphernalia.

The pair were arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and distribution of meth.

Both of them are being held on $500,000 bail.
