Roseburg Brewers adult baseball team asks for help with league fees

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg adult baseball team is asking the public’s help with league fees.

The Roseburg Brewers just finished their sixth season playing in the Eugene Men’s Senior Baseball League.

The team says this year league fees are the most expensive they have ever been at over $3,000 per team.

One member of the Brewers says they're losing players because of the rising costs.

"We've lost a couple of guys this year that have been with us since the beginning that just couldn't afford to come back,” says Brewer Josh Carr. “Every year it's an issue; we get people really excited about the team (and) then they end up backing out because they just can't afford the fee."

Carr says the team is short $400 for fees this year.

In past years the team’s head coach has paid the difference, but this time they hope to raise the money.
