Riding in style: Peace Health gets toy cars for kids to drive to operating rooms
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Oregon Community Credit Union donated two battery-powered mini cars to the pediatric surgery department at Peace Health Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield.
The mini cars will allow children getting surgery to ride or drive them to the operating room from their hospital room.
“There's nothing like telling a kid who may not have this kind of great toy at home, ‘Hey, how would you like to ride in our black Range Rover?’ What young kid is going to say no to that? I want to do it,” Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Kim Ruscher.
The mini cars go in to affect within the next few weeks.
