Reward offered after fawn shot and killed

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- State police are looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing a fawn deer in the Melrose area.

State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help to identify the person or persons who shot and killed the fawn in late March.

Authorities say that on March 28 at about 10:00 p.m., someone shot the deer and left it in a ditch on Melqua Road, about 1.5 miles east of the Melrose Store.

A reward of up to $500 is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association TIP Reward Program for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
