      Prison for man accused of impersonating a police officer at mall

      SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A man accused of impersonating a police officer will spend a year in prison and 5 years probation.

      Police arrested Travis Lee Riley, 29, of Junction City in August on charges of Impersonating an Officer and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection with the July 18 incident at Gateway Mall.

      The investigation started July 18 with a report that a man displayed a gun and badge at Gateway Mall, claiming to be an undercover officer looking for lost or stolen property.

      Riley's sentence includes drug court and additional prison if he violates parole.
