Portion of path connecting Stewart & Riverfront parks to be removed, replaced

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The City of Roseburg will work on the removal and replacement of a 1,200 linear foot section of multi-use path connecting Stewart Park and Riverfront Park beginning Monday, May 15.

Officials say the renovation project will include the demolition and removal of the existing asphalt and the construction of a new pathway.

The section of path is located between the park maintenance shop facility in Stewart Park and the disc golf area in Riverfront Park.

The pathway will be closed during construction and those normally using the path will need to find an alternate route. The project is expected to be completed by Monday, June 26, 2017.

Funding for the $75,000 project includes a $58,000 grant received from the Federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP). Oregon Parks and Recreation Department administers the RTP in Oregon.
