ARRESTED: Brett William Cashman (Douglas County Sheriff's Office mugshot)

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested on drug charges, police said, including evidence of involvement with the delivery of methamphetamine.

On Thursday, October 12, 54-year-old Brett William Cashman was arrested after a deputy observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 5 at 1:13 a.m., Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

Officials say the deputy observed a traffic violation and conducted the stop.

Cashman, the driver and only occupant, did not have a valid driver's license.

Police say his driving privileges were suspended at a misdemeanor level.

Cashman was taken into custody without incident.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy located approximately 3 ounces of methamphetamine and additional evidence indicating Cashman was involved in the delivery of methamphetamine, police said.

Cashman was taken to the Douglas County Jail where he was lodged. He was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine and misdemeanor-level driving while suspended.
