ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police detectives are looking into an incident where a 31-year-old transient from the Roseburg area was allegedly punched, causing him to fall and hit his head.
Police say that at about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, they were called to the Douglas Inn on SE Stephens in Roseburg, where they found Jonathan Scott King, 31, suffering from a head injury.
Police say that Michael Keith Oglesby, 36, of Roseburg, allegedly punched King during a dispute, causing him to fall and hit his head on the sidewalk.
King was transported to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to Sacred Heart at RiverBend, where he died around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say detectives are still investigating the incident and death, and no charges have been filed as of Monday morning.
