Woman hit and killed by train in Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. - A train hit and killed a woman Tuesday morning in the heart of Eugene's Whiteaker neighborhood.
Police said the 35-year-old died at the scene. Her identity is not yet available.
The woman was with a man when she was hit. Police do not suspect foul play.
Eugene Police Department issued a traffic advisory while they investigate.
Around 8:26 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of Madison Street "regarding a train/pedestrian crash involving a female," EPD said.
"Please avoid the area as the train is currently blocking north and southbound traffic from Jefferson Street to the Chambers connector," police report.
