ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A 19-year-old who police say shot and killed a Roseburg woman this week has been charged with murder, among other charges.
Police were called to a residence at 1676 NE Jacobson at about 8:46 pm on Tuesday, for a report that someone had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and found Ashley Nicole Davis was suffering from life threatening injuries. Kathy Ann Marshall, 51, of Roseburg was also injured in the shooting, and police say her injuries were not life threatening.
Davis later died at the hospital.
Police say they identified Michael Carl Gardner, 19, of Roseburg as the shooter, and just over an hour later officers found him at a residence on Morris Street.
Officers arrested Gardner on a felony warrant from a different case, and now say he has been charged in the shooting death.
Roseburg police charged Garnder with murder, attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
Gardner remains in the Douglas County Jail.
The investigation is continuing, and police have not released any information at this point on a motive.
