ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police captured a man they say robbed a hotel desk clerk at gunpoint early Friday morning.
Authorities say that at about 1:45 a.m., they were called to the Windmill Inn in Roseburg, for a report of an armed robbery.
Officials say the 22-year-old desk clerk reported that a man wearing a mask entered the office through the front doors. The male was described as a white male adult and that he was wearing a black mask that covered his face.
The suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded money from the till. She retrieved the till and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from it.
The male then left the area on foot.
Officials say officers from Roseburg and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office immediately set up a perimeter and started searching for the suspect.
They say they located Shawn Nolan Patzer, 29, about 1/3 of a mile away at the Roseburg Memorial Gardens on Hicks.
Police say that several items of evidence were recovered, including a handgun and clothing that were related to the robbery.
Patzer was arrested without incident and charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Menacing and Theft in the Second Degree.
He is currently lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
