Pipe bomb found in Roseburg park destroyed by OSP
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police say a pipe bomb was found in a Roseburg park over the weekend.
Officers were called to Gaddis Park off of Highland Street just after 1:00 pm Saturday, after a citizen reported finding the device.
Police responded and say they saw what looked like a pipe bomb in a parking space at the park.
Officers secured the area and the Oregon state Police bomb squad was called in.
Authorities say the bomb squad destroyed the device and confirmed that it was a homemade explosive device.
Police say they have no leads on a suspect at this point.
The Roseburg Police Department would like to remind the public that if they ever find anything that appears suspicious in nature, do not touch or handle it, but call 911 and keep people away from the area.
