PD: 'Suspicious man' leads to Sutherlin school lockdown

SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- A Sutherlin elementary school was locked down Wednesday morning, after authorities were sent to a report of a suspicious man near the campus.

Officials with the Sutherlin Police Department say reports came in of a suspicious person near the school at around 7:50 am.

Officers responded to the area and asked that the school be placed on lockdown.

Officers detained the man and cleared the school so the lockdown could be lifted.

Police are investigating to see if the man is connected with the stolen vehicle.
