ROSEBURG, Ore. -- It's called the only one of its kind west of the Mississippi, and now fundraising is kicking off for the PartnerSports Camp.

At the camp, general education students are paired up with those who have disabilities for two weeks of fun every year.

Participating duos partake in everything from golf tournaments to hikes along the North Umpqua.

This year camp organizers want to make the fun free of charge.

"We have launched what we call the 100 for $150 campaign,” explained Douglas ESD special education Coordinator Bryan Hinson. “We're looking for 100 individuals or businesses to donate $150 each. That sponsors one kid to come to camp for free this summer."

That sponsorship includes healthy meals, a t-shirt and team medals.

If you're interested in donating or volunteering for the PartnerSports Camp visit the Douglas Education Services District website.
