OSP: Traffic stop nets half million dollars worth of coke

      CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Two California residents are behind bars, after state police say they caught them hauling about 23 pounds of cocaine in their car on Interstate 5.Authorities say a trooper stopped a northbound Chrysler Sebring Tusday night just before 10:30 for speeding.The trooper identified the driver, Vincent Michael Mendez, 22, of Spring Valley, California, and his passenger, 21-year-old Alyssa Panziera of Salinas, California.State police say that during an investigation troopers found 10 kilos (about 23 pounds) of cocaine hidden in the car.Officials say the cocaine had a value of about a half million dollars.Both were arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and delivery of cocaine.
