'Mardi Growl' party at Roseburg pub will benefit pet shelter

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg pub is doubling up on Fat Tuesday's celebrations, raising money for a cause.

O’Toole’s is hosting the Mardi Growl party, a twist on Mardi Gras that will benefit the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center.

Some of the night's proceeds will go directly to the shelter.

The idea came from the pub owner's experience with Saving Grace.

"Buckley is an Alaskan husky; he is amazing,” said O’Toole’s owner Casey O’Toole about his family pet. “We were so lucky to get him and we went and met him. (We) heard he was out there and we went and met him and my boys went with us. We have ten-year-old twins and they thought he was pretty great."

Partygoers are encouraged to dress up in Mardi Gras fashion with beads and masks.

It happens Tuesday, February 28, from 4-9 p.m.
