Man stabbed in chest; suspect in custody
ROSEBURG, Ore. - A man stabbed someone he knew in the chest Sunday night, Roseburg Police said.
Officers responded just before midnight to a NE Jacobson home and found Kennith Wilson, 50, of Roseburg with a stab wound to the chest.
Wilson was taken to Mercy Hospital for initial treatment and then transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield for advanced trauma care.
Wilson was listed in fair condition at RiverBend as of 1:35 p.m. Monday.
During the initial stages of the investigation, police identified Rocky Pearson, 55, as the suspect.
Pearson's vehicle was spotted by patrol officers a short time later, police said.
Pearson was arrested without incident and lodged at Douglas County Corrections for Assault in the First Degree.
The victim and suspect were known to each other, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
