Man pronounced dead after collapsing at Oregon State Fair
SALEM, Ore. - A man from Monmouth was pronounced dead on Thursday evening after collapsing at the Oregon State Fair.
Edwin P. Lindley, 69, collapsed on the fairgrounds and was reportedly unconscious and not breathing. Troopers from the Oregon State Police responded immediately and began administering CPR.
Lindley was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"On behalf of the leadership, staff, vendors, contractors and volunteers of the Oregon State Fair, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Lindley for their loss," said Dan Cox, spokesperson for the OSP.
Next of kin has been notified.
