Man hit by SUV on I-5

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 just south of Roseburg Wednesday morning.

First responders were sent to the northbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 120, for a report of a person who had been struck by a vehicle.

An ODOT traffic camera captured images of medical crews attending to the person who was struck.

Troopers on the scene say the unidentified man was in the roadway for an unknown reason when he was struck.

Authorities say he was struck by a Jeep, and suffered a serious injury to his leg.

He was transported to Mercy Medical Center, but his condition is not known at this point.

Both lanes of I-5 northbound are now open.

Oregon State Police and officials from ODOT had the exit closed while they investigated the crash.
