Man arrested for alleged fight that led to death

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man is behind bars, charged by police with second degree manslaughter, after a 31-year-old transient died from what police say was the result of a fight.

Police say that back in early February of 2012, they were called to the Douglas Inn on SE Stephens in Roseburg, where they found Jonathan Scott King, 31, suffering from a head injury.

Police say that Michael Keith Oglesby, then 36, of Roseburg, allegedly punched King during a dispute, causing him to fall and hit his head on the sidewalk.

King was transported to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to Sacred Heart at RiverBend, where he died a day later.

Police say they contacted the now 37-year-old Oglesby at about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, at a residence in Winston. He was arrested on a felony warrant.

Oglesby was lodged in the Douglas County Jail, charged by police with second degree manslaughter.

His bail was set at $50,000.
