LIVESTRONG: YMCA offers 12-week program for cancer patients & survivors
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A new program at the Douglas County YMCA is aimed at helping current cancer patients and survivors.
‘LIVESTRONG’ is a 12-week program that takes recovering patients through endurance training, cardiovascular and strength training to regain total health.
"The OHSU Knight Cancer Center was gracious enough to fund us for a year with $50,000 to implement the program, and we feel blessed with them approving it," said Healthy living director Steven Stanfield at the Roseburg YMCA location.
While this 12-week LIVESTRONG course is already underway, they are compiling a waiting list for the next one.
