LCSO: Body recovered at Dorena Lake, believed to be missing man

NEAR DORENA LAKE, Ore. -- Sheriff's deputies said that they found the body of a deceased man near Dorena Lake Wednesday afternoon, adding that they believe it to be a man who went missing from Douglas County last week.

Officials said that the body was found on the north side of Dorena Reservoir near the Harms Park boat landing.

The Lane County Sheriff's Office said that they believe the deceased is Brian Trumbo, a man who was reported missing on Thursday, Dec. 28.

Officials said that the medical examiner is working to identify the body and determine the cause of death.

Family members said that the 27-year-old Brian Trumbo was last seen leaving his Oakland, Ore. home on December 11th. Officials said that Trumbo told his relatives that he was taking a trip to the Eugene-area.

Officials with Douglas County Sheriff's Department reported Trumbo missing on Dec. 28th, nearly two weeks after he was reported missing.

After the missing person's report was released, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said that they found a car matching his vehicle's description near Dorena Lake.

LCSO deputies located Trumbo's Expedition at the Rat Creek Boat Ramp area on Dec. 12, the day after he left Oakland.

The Lane County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the missing man to call at 541-682-4141. Trumbo's case number is 12-8396.
