July Jubilee in North Bend this weekend

NORTH BEND, Ore. - The City of North Bend celebrates its birthday this weekend with the July Jubilee.

The celebration kicks off Friday with children's programs throughout the day, followed by honored citizens and a birthday cake cutting at the north bend community center.

Saturday includes a parade starting at 1 p.m.

For the first time, the Jubilee princesses will row along the bay in canoes.

"This year is special in that we gave the 5k run and we also have the princesses involved more," said coordinator Bonnie Hayes. "I just think it's a fun event and I don't think you'd want to miss it. There's a lot going on at the North Bend Lanes and free fishing at the mall and you know it's a good family event to do for the weekend."
