Grass fire in Tri-City started by individual grinding metal, officials say
TRI-CITY, Ore. -- At approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters from the Douglas Forest Protective Association and Tri-City Rural Fire Department responded to a natural cover fire in the 300 block of South Old Pacific Highway in Tri-City.
Firefighters arrived and found a grass fire threatening several nearby structures.
Crews were able to stop the fire at 1/10th of an acre of grass and brush and remained on scene for about an hour mopping up.
Officials said no damage to the structures was reported.
Fire investigators determined the fire was started by an individual grinding metal.
