Grant to help repair homes in Douglas, Coos and Curry counties
ROSEBURG, Ore. - The US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program has awarded more than $400,000 to help homeowners make repairs in Douglas, Coos and Curry counties.
The program is available to low-to-moderate income homeowners who are interested in performing a portion of the work along with the help of Neighborworks Umpqua.
"It's just tremendous. We've been able to partner with Neighborworks Umpqua and it was a significant grant and they used it to help 49 homeowners over the last 2 years do upgrades to make their homes more liveable," said Vicki Walker, state director for USDA Rural Development.
A second grant will be awarded to help another 49 homeowners.
