Glide Middle School closing, kids will move to HS campus

GLIDE, Ore. -- The Glide School Board has unanimously voted to close Glide Middle School, relocating the students to the high school campus starting in the fall.

At Monday night's meeting, the board decided that budget and maintenance issues made it unreasonable to keep the aging building open.

Officials say the students will attend school on the Glide High School campus starting in the Fall of 2014.

District officials say the kids won't be intermingling with high school students and will be kept separated.

For now, the middle school students will keep their mascot as well.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
