Fright Fest Pizza Night: Community holds event for Roseburg girl with rare condition
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A community group is teaming up with a local business to help a Roseburg family whose daughter has a rare syndrome.
"Cruise for a Cause" is holding a Fright Fest Pizza Night Saturday at Pizza Palace in Myrtle Creek to help two-year-old Emma Salazar, who was diagnosed with Fryns syndrome.
According to the Genetic and Rare Diseases Information Center, the condition affects the growth of many parts of the body.
"(We want) to uplift them, let them know that it's okay, that there are people in our community willing to step up and support them," said Cruise for a Cause cofounder Brett Parrett.
The event will feature a costume contest along with games and a silent auction for kids.
It starts at 4 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m.
