MILO, Ore. -- Help is coming to Oregon after the costly 2015 fire season.

FEMA announced they're awarding a $7.8 million grant to the Oregon Department of Forestry for the Stouts Creek Fire.

The fire began on July 30, 2015, east of Canyonville in Douglas County.

It grew to more than 15,000 acres within 48 hours.

ODF says the grant will cover 75 percent of the more than $10 million it cost to fight the fire.
