FBI: Same man suspect in Roseburg, Salem bank robberies

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A man

who robbed a Roseburg bank Monday

is likely the same man who robbed a Salem bank Friday, the FBI said.

In both cases, the man walked into the bank, approached the teller's desk, threatened that he had a weapon and left with cash.

No one was physically hurt in either robbery.

Witnesses describe the man as a white man in his 40s to 50s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, 160 to 180 pounds with dark hair.

The FBI is investigating these robberies in partnership with the Roseburg Police Department and the Salem Police Department.

The first robbery happened on Monday, April 28, at about 11:10 a.m. at the Umpqua Bank branch at 1790 Garden Valley Boulevard in Roseburg.

The second robbery happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at the U.S. Bank branch located at 3485 Commercial Street SE in Salem.

In the first robbery, he was wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans, a baseball cap and sneakers.

In the second robbery, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the word "Oregon" on the front.
