ROSEBURG, Ore. -- If you like the outdoors and helping people, there may be an opportunity for you with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

They're looking for search and rescue volunteers, and anyone from14 years old to retired can sign up.

Search and rescue needs people with a wide range of skill sets and interests.

“Our volunteer program consists of ground searchers, mountain rescue searchers, people that work our K9 program, our 4-by-4 program, so we can use volunteers from just basically all walks of life," says emergency manager Wayne Stinson.

If you’re interested, there's a meeting at the sheriff's office on Tuesday, October 10, at 7 p.m.
