Douglas County Fair wraps another year; fair director pleased with turnout
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- After four days of fun the Douglas County Fair wrapped up another year on Saturday.
Despite the sweltering heat, thousands of people came out for those last few bites of fair food and fun on Saturday.
Although rock band Seether cancelled its performance Saturday night due to illness, the fair director says he is still pleased with this year’s turnout.
"Friday we had Gabriel Iglesias; we had Fluffy. That just blew me away, the number of people that showed up for that concert," fair director Harold Phillips said. "We had close to 9,500 people down in the amphitheater; it was just wall to wall with people. Everybody was just laughing."
Fair officials have already started planning for next year’s event.
