Douglas County Fair: 'We love it!'
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Jody Nolte loves the Douglas County Fair.
"Well, I love to watch the people the most," she said. "Actually I've been coming to the fair since I was about 11, so that's about 60 years."
Nolte said it is a family tradition.
"We moved to Hawaii and came back specifically to see the Douglas County Fair one year," she said. "So we love it!"
The fairgrounds are also packed with area high school students participating in the livestock auction.
"4H projects, market hogs, just about to go in for conformation rounds and that will tell us where we place for the auction on friday and then tomorrow is showmanship," Wyatt Bowen from Douglas High School 4H said.
Bowen said they always find time to try some of their favorite fair food.
"Yeah, I'm gonna hit the Hawaiian teryaki stand," he said. "It's all junk food, and it's right there for you: all you need is money."
