ODOT: SW Oregon: An ODOT de-icer truck was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on NB Interstate 5 south of exit 88 (Azalea). Vehicles passing in the fast lane lost control and struck the de-cier truck. ODOT asks drivers to use extreme caution in the current winter conditions and give a wide berth to emergency response vehicles, de-icer trucks and snowplows. ODOT advises motorists to follow de-icer trucks and snowplows on I-5 and wait to pass when the equipment is off the highway.

ODOT: SW Oregon: Interstate 5 reopened south of Cottage Grove at 8 a.m., following a semi fire. Both northbound lanes are open; one southbound lane is open as crews remove the burned semi. Drivers should expect delays as traffic backups clear.
There is a lot of snow in the area. Chains are required if your vehicle is rated 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) or less and is towing. You must use chains on any single drive axle vehicle rated over 10,000 pounds GVW whether towing or not.

**Authorities are responding to crashes all over I-5. Please use caution if you have to drive. If you don't have to, stay home and enjoy the snow!**
