Don't be caught off guard! What to carry in winter weather
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Winter weather can sometimes catch people off guard, but there are some items you can carry to be ready for an emergency.
Waldron's Outdoor Sports in Roseburg suggests filling up a duffel bag with necessities, such as "ready to eat" meals, waterproof matches, and an extra jacket.
But outdoor experts say this one item can make a big difference:
"The waterproof blanket is a big deal because you can use that to change your tire or stay warm, that kind of thing," says Tom Kress with Waldron’s.
Experts say that survival kits should also include overlooked items such as hats, gloves, and water.
