Deputies: Woman arrested after stabbing boyfriend

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Douglas County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Roseburg woman, after they say she stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic dispute.

The Sheriff's office says that at about 3:40 p.m., a call came in to the 911 center regarding a stabbing in the 400 block of Hewitt Street in Roseburg.

When deputies arrived, they contacted Jennifer Joy Cook, 41, who lives at the residence.

Deputies found Robert Michael Gomoll, 51, at another location, who had been stabbed in the chest.

Deputies say that through an investigation, they learned that Gomoll and Cook, who were in a relationship, had been involved in a disturbance.

Sheriff's detectives also responded, and say Cook was cooperative with them during the investigation.

Cook was arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail, charged by the Sheriff's office with second degree felony assault.

Gomoll was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for the injury, which authorities say did not appear to be life threatening.
