Blue Zones Project looks to raise health level in Douglas County
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A well-being initiative to raise the health level in Douglas County is in full swing.
Douglas County is ranked 31st out of 36 counties in the state for health according to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Report.
But the Blue Zones Project Umpqua is trying to change that.
A community kickoff event is next week.
"Tangible experience for everyone to kind of see what Blue Zones Project is doing, how we'll be working with our local work sites and our restaurants and grocery stores and schools,” said Blue Zones Project Umpqua’s Juliete Palenshus, “so they can really get an idea of the work we'll be doing for the next few years."
The event is on Monday of next week from 5-7 p.m. at UCC's Jacoby Auditorium.
