ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg woman is in the fight of her life, and the community has rallied around her.
33-year-old Hayley Ziebart was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in September.
Since then, she's had chemo treatments every week.
Hayley had to stop working as a music instructor in order to focus on her health, and she says finances have gotten a bit tough. "This is scary, we have bills piling up on our counter."
But, at a time when she and her family need it most, she says the community has stepped in ways she never would have imagined. "It's just overwhelming, and it's awesome," she said. "And it's just a reminder of how good people are to people, out of the good of their hearts."
A local gym has taken on Hayley's cause.
Roseburg Crossfit is hosting an event called 'Barbells for Boobies' that is taking place Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
Participants have raised money to take part in a workout, and everything raised will go to Hayley and her family.
She says that she, her husband and her two young sons can not say 'Thank You' enough. "We are so grateful, and we feel so blessed, it's hard for me to say without tears, because we really do just feel so humbled and so blessed," she said.
