Amateur photographer films furniture store fire from air

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Amateur aerial photographer Carl Schreiner shot footage of firefighters battling a blaze Sunday evening at Kuebler's Furniture Store.

"I was using a remote controlled hexacopter with FPV (first person view) goggles that allowed me to 'see' what the camera was seeing and hover right over the fire," he said.

One firefighter was injured during fire operations and was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. No word yet on that firefighter's condition.

The fire started at around 5 p.m. Sunday in Kuebler's Furniture Store.

Police closed down part of NE Stephens Street near Garden Valley Blvd. while fire crews handle the blaze.

Numerous neighbors and business owners called 911 after noticing smoke coming from Kuebler's Furniture.

Roseburg Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to the fire, and when they arrived, crews say they found heavy grey smoke coming from the southeast corner of the building off N.E. Chestnut Avenue.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
