3 local students die in I-5 car crash, school releases statement

Three Eagle Point High School students were killed in an accident on Interstate 5 north of the Rice Hill area Saturday night.

The identities of the victims were released by Eagle Point High School as Luciana Tellez, Giselle (Jennifer) Montano and Esmeralda Nava.

The school released a statement Sunday stating:

It is with sadness that we inform you that last night three Eagle Point High School students died in a car accident. We have information through the families of Luciana Tellez, Giselle (Jennifer) Montano and Esmeralda Nava. The school will be open for students and staff who wish to be together in this time of grief this afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00.

The school will open its doors Sunday night from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. for students and staff who wish to grieve together.
