17th annual Reading Fair brings hundreds to Douglas County Fairgrounds
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A community event in Roseburg over the weekend drew in families from all over Douglas County to celebrate the importance of reading.
The 17th annual Reading Fair took place at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Kids went from booth to booth learning about books and organizations in the community.
"If you can develop a love of reading in a child, you develop a reader for life," said Celebration of Literacy co-chairperson Maxine Durst.
Organizers say the event takes a full year to plan and they usually expect about 600 to 80 people from all over the county each year.
