      Average price of gas is $3.98 in Oregon, $4 in Washington

      PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $3.98.

      That's up 2 cents in a week and 9 cents in a month. It's 21 cents higher than a year ago and 30 cents higher than the current national average.

      Some metro prices from Monday's AAA survey:

      Portland $3.96, Salem $3.97, Eugene-Springfield $4.03, Medford-Ashland $4.03.

      Washington average hits $4

      The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Washington is $4, according to AAA.

      That's up 2 cents in a week and 9 cents in a month. It's 20 cents higher than a year ago and 32 cents higher than the current national average.

      Bellingham $4.10, Bremerton $4.03, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $4.06, Tacoma $4.02, Olympia $4.03, Vancouver $3.99, Yakima $3.92, Tri-Cities $3.82, Spokane $3.78.
